Snatch Rope for sale

No longer for sale. You must win via auction: http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forum...very-rope.html

I recently won this at a wheeling event, but I am good on recovery gear. This brand new rope is very similar to the below Bubba Rope that retails for $289 plus shipping. It is 1" to 1 1/4" x 20' and I will sell for $111 shipped.

Heavy Duty Professional Snatch Rope : Breaking Strength: 52,300 lbs. : Bubba Rope

Actual rope. Can for diameter reference.

Does it work as advertised or is it just for recovery?

Re: Snatch Rope for sale

A snatch recovery rope stretches to I believe around 30% to evenly distribute high loading during recoveries. Its ability to stretch means that the force more gradually increases during the pull instead of a snap or yank from a traditional strap. Unfortunately to experience the most benefit you do not want to have an overly heavy-duty rope. For an FJ this seems to be a bit overkill.

Also because of its ability to stretch a snatch rope should only be used for recovery and not towing because the internal friction in the rope from prolonged usage can lead to failure.

LOL, too many vodka what evers. It looks like a great recovery rope! Woven loops with wear covers are great.

Re: Snatch Rope for sale

Somewhat related.. I just bought the Bubba (not the Big) and that should be enough for recovery of other vehicles. Like someone above said, I think the Big Bubba might be overkill for recovering light trucks like the FJ -- at least from what I've read about this type of tool. Here's a video about the Bubba Rope products..
