Re: will 285/70-17 tires fit?

plan on putting a 1" spacer in the front...
these are Cooper Discoverer STT 285/70/17. With the Front wheel turned all the way out (ex. the front passenger side turned all the way to the right) the tightest area has a 1" clearence.

Oh, and they gave me a $200 credit for my 4 stock bridgestone Dueler H/T's...i was happy about that!

I just ordered 275/70-17 BFG AT's for my FJ from Kal Tire. They should fit without rubbing at all and are a little bigger than the stock size. Why haven't more people looked into these as an option?

I ordered 275/70 R17 Goodyear MT/R's. I figure that I might as well get a little bit bigger tire that I know won't cause any problems. They were only $10 per tire more so it was no big deal to me. Going to 285's just seemed a bit too far for those wheelwells...especially if you use chains at any point.

They were charging $219 a tire...(that's before my $200 Credit)
With credit for stocks $675 Total for 4 / $168.75 per tire

According to BF Goddridge website there is no such tire.
They definitely make it in a 275 and it is about the same price as the 265. I'll be putting some on my FJ as soon as it arrives. My dealer is bringing them in and he verifed that the warehouse had them in stock.

Seems like a good option to me as they are bigger than the stock but they aren't big enough to rub at all on a stock FJ.

Re: will 285/70-17 tires fit?

Those Coopers look EXTREMELY beautiful, not to mention capable. Unfortunately I can't find ANY comparison info on line on them so far, and I've never seen them anywhere before. But I'm definitely gonna keep diggin'......

PS: Nice choice on the BLUE Shana and Wil (and that Yakima is saweet!). Mine's supposed to land in Port Wednesday. Hell, I haven't anticipated a vehicle this painfully since I got my first bicycle at Xmas when I was a kid.

In R16, yes. I find it extremely odd that if they make in R17 it is nowhere in the available catalogs.

Do you have a link for anybody who offers this size online?

Re: will 285/70-17 tires fit?

You guys know anything about these tires: Sigma Stampede Rad A/T 265/70/17? I can't get any info on them but the price is right at under 120 each.
