SoonerFJ, You said 250 miles now but going to a larger diameter means your odometer is showing less miles than you really went. Figure about 10 miles for every hundred so you are probably getting about 275 out of it. Weight does effect it somewhat, but a larger diameter on the highway will actually give you better millage so it depends on what your driving habbits are.
Nobady that I've seen has tried the BFG Mud Terrian. When compared to the A/T in the same size they are slightly thiner. Any tire shop will tell you this. Just the way they are, but it is noticable. Switched from a/t to m/t on my superduty F-350 and then switched back because I didn't like the thin look it had. In a 285 a M/T is not going to be very loud at all. Has anyone checked to see if TOYO M/t are in 285/70/17's?

I put BFG AT/KO 285/70/17 with no lift and experienced significant rubbing, and so I switched to 265's. They look great and no rubbing!! It really depends on who you talk to regarding the possibility of rubbing, so you might luck out. Rubbing occurred mostly behind both front tire/wheels...

I'm running 275/70R17 MTRs with no rubbing. I have put it up on curbs at full turn and I'm still not close to rubbing. I'll have to see what happens when I get it off road though.
Just put on the Daystar 2.5" lift this weekend and new Nitto 285/70-17 Terra Grapplers. Just came out, they aren't even on the Nitto website yet but the Discount Tires here in the Phoenix area have them. Sweet.
With the 2.5 daystar, Do you lift the back as well? Nobody has said anything about the back. Just seems like if you lift the front only then it will ride high in front.
