Re: 285 v. 305 predicament

And as for the back, with my tire/wheel setup, at full flex my tire fits PERFECTLY and I am not exaggerating. Here is a picture.

What is your setup on the rear FJX2000? I think I might just run some coils, but from what I understand the FJs stock rear coils are fairly decent, I just might need some lift in the rear.

Re: 285 v. 305 predicament

Well if you're lifting the front then I would definitely lift the rear as well.

But as for my setup, I honestly do not know for sure. When I first got my FJ, my dad enjoyed driving it to work every now and again, and one time, he went to a nearby town and when he came back he had had a leveling kit put on it as a surprise. Now if I'm correct, I do believe the lift is the same one that some Toyota dealers put on their FJs or Tacomas and then they can put it under the warranty. Only the one put on mine was just done at a shop and I have no idea what it is exactly, neither does my dad. Here are some pictures of the possible lifts I have:

This one is made by Readylift

And this one by Truxxx

So I can say the lift I have is around 2 to 2.5 inches but I cant tell you exactly. I wish I would've gotten something else rather than a leveling kit, like at least a Rough Contry 3" or something. But then I just have the TRD Bilstien shocks that came with the TRD Special Edition in the rear and the oem coils on mine right now, nothing fancy.

Compromise - 285/75/17, 34" without the width (11.5 not 12.5).

Worked for me.
