Need help choosing tires.

So, I'll be installing my OME med. kit, and TC UCA arms this weekend. So I have till Friday to decide what tires to order so they can be here for the following weekend. These are my choice's, in no specific order:

1) 285/ 70- R17 Firestone Destinations
2) 33x12.50- 17 Procomp Xterrain
3) 33x12.50- 17 Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ
4) 33x12.50- 17 Mickey Thompson Baja Claws

First of all, in my eyes these are all great looking tire's with the claws being my fav. with the destinations next inline. Xterrain's look really mean, and I heard alot of good things about the MT MTZ's. My FJ see's highway 80% of the time and is my daily driver, with that in mind how do these tires handle the elements? Anyone who has any seat time w/ the xterrains, is there alot of wind noise?

I would like an aggressive tire, that looks awsome, and doesn't produce alot of noise running down the highway at 65 mph. I know I'll be dealing with some, but I don't want it to be excessive. I plan on mounting the tires on the fact. wheels. Why, I really like the way aggressive tires look on the OEM wheels. So, what do you think will suit me best?

You should check out Hankook Dynapro MT's. I've got them 285/70/17 and they are not noisy at all. Just made your choice a bit harder

Re: Need help choosing tires.

You need to get Cooper Discoverer STT. 285/70 R17. They look incredible they drive great, and hardly any road noise.

Re: Need help choosing tires.

Toyo open country 295/70 R17 is a very good choice too. I switch to MTZ only because of availability problem...

Re: Need help choosing tires.

From that list, after all the research I've done recently, definately the MTZ! They were my second choice.

Re: Need help choosing tires.

Just went wheeling last weekend with brand new Baja MTZs. I love the tire. It has very good grip on the rocks. On the highway, I didn't feel that the handling got worse. You will get road noise, but its acceptable. It also looks really sweet. THe only thing I don't like about them is that it chips easily on the sidewall compared to Toyo's and Pro Comps.

Anyways, here are pictures of my tires on stock size. Also I lost about 4-5 MPG as soon as I installed the tires.
