Talking Gett'in new Revo's today

After exhusting research on this forum I decided to the get the Bridgestone Dueler AT Revos in a 265/70/17 size today. Even though my off roading heart wanted something much more aggressive, Pro-Comps MT's, and deserving for my FJ I had to compromise knowing that this truck is my commuter first, my primary transportation means to get to my beloved Sierra Nevada mountains second, and lastly some good dirt play. Plus I couldn't beat the price @ $155 each and the additional lifetime alinement package firestone offered.
I did leave the Firestone folks all the valuable data provided by members of the forum on Tire Balancing and Steering Vibration, and the FJ alignment specs.....lets see how they do with all the information up front.
Next on the list, Bilstein 5100 series valved for the FJ with adjustable front spring preload collars due out in June.

Re: Gett'in new Revo's today

I think you'll be fairly happy with the Revo's (especially over stock). Hubby had Revos on his taco, replaced with Cooper S/Ts, and now got 4 new rims and Revos for summer/ road driving.

He is pretty sure that the taco 16" rims would fit the FJ if we want to take it off road before I have the cash to replace the current rubber.

Re: Gett'in new Revo's today

Here's the info on the Bilstein shocks due out this summer, the guys at Bilstein have said these will be superior in valving, shaft diameter, and piston size over the TRD shocks currently available due to the fact they are based off the 5100 series vs. the old Yellow ones.

Ditto on the Revos...........I've got 285s on mine and they are terrific, not too aggressive, quiet road tire, and they do a pretty good job of cleaning themselves out as you roll along. It's funny to see mud/smow etc passing you up as they clean themselves.

My Revos have been everywhere in varied conditions with zero issues...solid performance in mud and snow. Great balance between trail readiness and highway performance.

Re: Gett'in new Revo's today

I looked long and hard at revos to, but ended up getting Fuzions HTI all terrains by Dayton ( Bridgestones ) I got them for 320.00 installed plus my old duelers. Nice aggressive tread, yet just a little highway noise whine.

Yes they do clean out real well and rather quickly. In addtion to seeing the mud fly out, you can hear it against the wheel wells. Awesome tire, performs well above it's "civilized" all-terrain looks.

Re: Gett'in new Revo's today

Those stock Dunlaps are off my FJ, I picked up my truck at lunch and the new tires look so much better can't wait to try them out this weekend. Judging by the replies to my post I feel good about my purchase. Recieved my Bridgestone tire rebate form, 10%, and just to get another 10% off the total sale by applying for their silly Firestone credit card. I worked this deal to death. I'm done.

They'll fit.... I just traded in my 06 Taco and took my American Racing wheels and put them on the FJ. I have the REVOs in the stock tire size for the Taco(265/70/16). They are smaller than the standard tire size that comes on the FJ but I plan to get the REVOs in the 285/75/16. They do awesome in all conditions, snow, mud, dirt, rock!
