295 Terra Grapplers?

Hello All!

In the next week or 2 im ordering my OME lift.

I know some ppl on here are running 295/70R17 Terra Grapplers. My question to you...Do they clear the upper control arm with the stock wheels or will i require spacers? I assume i also have to do the body mount trim? I just wanna know before i go ahead and drop the cash on them!

Thanks in advance Guys and Gals!

Re: 295 Terra Grapplers?

100% you'll have to trim body mounts.
If you run the 295's on stock wheels, they most likely will rub the uca's. There are a couple members running these in 295's but they have aftermarket wheels.

Re: 295 Terra Grapplers?

I think you may be alright. PM big-boi. He runs 295/70-17 Toyo Open Country M/Ts using a Rough Country lift. Granted not same tires or same lift, but at least you can use his rig as a reference point. I wheeled with him last month and his FJ was a beast and the Toyo M/Ts were looking like the heat!

Just remember results may vary.

Re: 295 Terra Grapplers?

I'm running 295's, but I'm on aftermarket wheels so I can't give you a definite answer. daPitbull is correct, you will need to modify your mounts.

Re: 295 Terra Grapplers?

You'll be fine without the body mount modification. I run the 285/70-17 Terra's on stocks and have for almost a year now (2.5" spacer lift). Much of the wheeling I do requires a lot of flex and I have yet to have a problem. With 295's you're only talking a little over 3/16" wider on either side of the rim. The overall diameter difference is a hint over 1/2" which means you'll be a 1/4" taller than mine on the radius. I clear the UCA's by a good 1/2 to 3/4's of an inch even aired down and have never made contact with the liner that covers the body mount. No mount mod, no spacers.

Re: 295 Terra Grapplers?

Sorry a little off topic... but we just put 295/70/17 terra grapplers on my dad's F150 with sway away coilovers... and those tires are *****IN... handle real well in the dirt too. Even with a few mods to get them to fit on your FJ... you will definately be happy with those tires.

Re: 295 Terra Grapplers?

Put 295 Terra Grapplers yesterday with NO rub and NO mount cutting. I have a 2" EZLIFT (level lift) in front. Pics to large to post. PM your email and I can send pics if you like.
