Revos...is this a good deal?

My firestone guy is offering me 5 revos for $820.00...thats including the tire repair and replacement plan, $200.00 for my 5 dunlops, taxes etc.

Also can't make up my mind if I should just wear out the Dunlops (more rational) or take the better tire plunge (happy fj - wallet not). I'm sure the revos are better especially in the rain etc, but as a daily drive it's not like I have any real problem.

Local firestone here does not offer trade in credit. I payed $950 for my 5 revos with platinum pact. And again no trade in credit. After taxes, I was up over $1k. Oh yeah, my 5 revos were 285/70-17s. Not sure what your quote is based on.

You'll really like the Revos both on and off road. Perform suprisingly well off-road, in mud, etc. Peform pretty well on rocks too. IMO, these are the best all-terrains out there...at least here in the terrain of the SE United States. I did not think I'd like these better than BFG AT KOs, but I did(as I only went Revos because BFG ATs were scarce). However, I'd say the margin is fairly thin. both great tires

Re: Revos...is this a good deal?

Thanks fivestar.
Would you say the overall handling of the fj has improved much?
... I know they are really good in rain, snow etc. To be honest, although making the plunge is easy to rationalize (If I could spare the $ now, I'd just freakin do it!) ...It's hard to justify the cash now, when I'm mostly on the road and the stock dunlops should last atleast another 20.000 (only 2.000 on them now from re call).

Re: Revos...is this a good deal?

Overall handling of FJ with Revos vs. stock rubber is nearly night and day! Exceptional on road grip. And very noticeably better off-road and in the mud as the Revos clean themselves and fling the stuff everywhere. Whereas, the stock rubber just gums itself up and you are left with mudslicks. Only thing with Revos is the sidewalls are not the toughest of all-terrains. But if your environment is more mud and sand, and not so much rock, then they'd be about perfect.

Re: Revos...is this a good deal?

The Tire Rack sells the 265/70R17 Dueler REVO's with shipping to 63011 (me) for $777.12 including road hazzard. That of course does not include instalation, but that could be done for anywhere around $80.00 in most cities. Now that is only for four tires, so your deal for five is great!

Re: Revos...is this a good deal?

You'll like the Revos... nearly perfect for real-world conditions here in PA.

That said, Next year my REVOs will rest in the hangar while Blizzaks keep
me out of trouble on the ice/mix stuff we get here.

Now I drive out on the road to get to a livestock barn 'no matter what'
and then down the unplowed road to the barn 'no matter what' so it may
not matter that much to you.

Re: Revos...is this a good deal?

Firestone matched the tire rack price and sold them to me for $155, 265/17s, I've had mine a 2 weeks and I am totally happy with them.
