BFGs in the Denver area?

Hey,

Just got my FJ 2 days ago and as soon as i can afford it i need to get some decent hiking shoes for her. Not gonna lift it (at least not for a looong time) so i'm gonna stay with the stock 17'' wheels and unless someone can convince me of anything better I was gonna go with BFG A/Ts...

I might not be able to actually buy the tires for another month or two, I'm moving into a new apartment so the girlfriend somehow got this weird idea that buying furniture is more important than just sleeping on the floor and having nice tires on the FJ... oh well. Anyway, just wondering where I can get good service and a good deal on tires around Denver... I will be living in Superior, so if any of you are in my neck of the woods and wanna take me wheeling i'm down (new to the area and new to the FJ). I know there's a 4Wheelparts not too far away but wanted to hear what experiences people form the forum have had... thanks for any advice!

discount tire will rotate your tires for free every 3000 miles or whenever you want, which is what you need to keep those tires running perfect.

Re: BFGs in the Denver area?

Love my BFGAT's. Virtually silent, no drift and no effect on my mileage and still holding between 19-22mpg with almost 3k on the Odo now. all speeds thru 90mph are rock solid. Mine are aired to 40psi.

Best part, mine were free thanks to a buddy in the tire industry

Yep, had A/Ts on my old '92 Ford Ranger and loved 'em... whether for road trips or off road they worked great. just don't really know what else is out there, but the BFGs seem kinda like a no-brainer.

You still have that buddy in the tire industry? could you hit him up for a little discount for a fellow froum meber and FJer or maybe we can see who else is intrested in them and we can get some sort of group buy/order together at some point?

I'm never really sure what is allowed through the forum with there being supporting vendors and all that, and I certainly don't mean to be stepping on anybody's toes. I understand if you don't really wanna do this since then the whole board will be hitting on you for tires or for any other reason... asking doesn't hurt though, right?

Re: BFGs in the Denver area?

I can check for you, only issue is cost on those is almost right at retail for BFG's.

What i probably could do is get you a good credit for the stock tires and then you pay the difference.

Ill check and post back....

BTW pics of mine sitting on the tires in my profile.

Re: BFGs in the Denver area?

Costco is the best place I've found for BFGs. Mounting/Balancing included, roadside assistance for the tires, free balance and rotation, free repair, if they can't repair it, prorated and replaced. Plus, if BFG makes it, they can special order it. Usually takes 3-5 days if they have to order though. They also do $60 off 4 tires twice a year, usually I wait if I can and buy the tires then.

Re: BFGs in the Denver area?

I would recommend against 4 Wheel Parts, several threads about this if you do a search, my experience with them was terrible, refused to order wheels and tires per my request, thought they knew better, bottom line they misordered them twice, got it right the third time when they ordered what I originally requested. They are inept, go someplace else.
