Re: Costco BFGoodrich Sale

The only BFG tire they list (in 265/70-17) is the Long Trail T/A, no 17" All Terrain T/A KOs...
They do have the 265/75-16 KOs for $178.99 each (before rebate) - so the net would be about $660 for a set of 4.

Re: Costco BFGoodrich Sale

Anyone had any luck with the Goodyear "Silent armor" tire? That's the only one Discount tire makes in a 275/70/17 and I don't want to go to a 285 due to possible rubbing/clearance issues.

The quote I listed is from the Costco website. But you probably have to go to your local Costco to get the other varients listed...the stores and website carry different (and limited) products.

You don't want the silent armors...

Spend a few more bucks and get the Goodyear MTR in 275/70/17. This is the very best tire option available for an FJ IMNSHO.

Discount can sell these to you. You might have to prod a bit if a numb-nut sales guy says otherwise.

Re: Costco BFGoodrich Sale

Does Costco still have that silly 3% size rule? the last time that I had checked with them, they only carried one or two sizes in a BFG AT...

Re: Costco BFGoodrich Sale

Didn't want to start a new thread. I was in Costco tire and asked about 285/70/17 Bfg KM2's. They told me they could get them and sell them to me at carry out price. They won't install them unless it is the same size currently on the vehicle. That blows. He told me I could have someplace else mount them and then to bring them back and they would do the rotations and life time balance. Doesn't make sense to me, but I guess it is their policy. I guess Costco's tire price will be ammo for getting a good deal at Discount.

I talked to Costco about this very issue (I'm still saving up for some good tires). And their reply was that they didn't have any problems putting bigger/stronger tires on. He said the policy was that they would not install tires that had a lower load rating than the stock tires, which creates a liability issue. As long as the tires have the same/higher load rating, it's no problem.

So I don't know if the policy varies by store/state, or if the guy you talked to just has a different understanding than the guy I talked to.

Do the BFG KM2s have a lower load rating than stock tires?

3192lbs for 285 size. KM2 def. has higher load rating. Duelers are less then 2300lbs I think.

I went out to the Costco.com website but couldn't get into the page where the prices are located at. What prices are you seeing?
