295 open country mt's Stock wheels?

Here we go! Just saved up some cash for some new tires and I really like the TOYO OPEN COUNTRY MT'S. I would like to go with the 295's.
I have the Donahoe suspension upgrade, coil-overs up front and springs and new shocks in rear. I want to stick with stock alloys for now. If I have to chop the mounts no big deal, I can do that. Are after market UCA'S needed to fit this combo? I've been lifted with stock dunlops for over 2 months and really want to get my truck properly outfitted. All advice or comments will be appreciated! Thanks.

Re: 295 open country mt's Stock wheels?

Not sure about the Toyo's but I have been running Nitto 295's for over a year with no problems. Chopped the body mounts..that's it.

295's? No probs here, even with just my level lift (I did take the mud flaps off). Hope you don't mind a pic in the thread...

Oh, and note the proudly displayed FJCruiserforums.com decal!

A forum member named noworries replied back to me in another thread
(regarding Toyo Open Country MT 295/70/17) - Thanks for the reply if you ever read this

I have the exact setup for now...stock alloy's and 295 toyo's only rubbing I get is in the rear fenderwell when they're fully stuffed...it just rubs slightly, no body chop. 3" lift
Got me thinking I want to go this way also. I kind like my stock alloys. My backup are Hankook Dynapro 285/70/17 which have been highly praised by many forum members. I don't have many miles on my stock Bridgestones and it seems like such a waste of rubber to get new tires so early on. It's got me spending my money elsewhere for now

I really liked the Toyo MTs when I was looking to buy. The tread is real aggressive. But those tires are a lil' on the expensive side so I opted for the Hankooks. If you decide to go with the Kooks' you won't be sorry, great tire but those Toyo's are sick!
