Opinions Please!!

I've got NEW 16" steelies for my TRD.

Love the BFG's BUT want a ROAD-SNOW & ICE TIRE.

Looks like the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors beat everything else out (except for the Pirelli Scorpion ATR's).

I think I've narrowed it down to that or the Bridgestone REVOS?

Thoughts??????

Re: Calling All Rubber Experts!

I love my Revos. They were great in the snow and ice. During Denver's blizzards, I never came close to getting stuck and got quite a few other vehicles unstuck. I don't have any complaints for highway driving or rock crawling either. Just don't air them down too much.

plus one on the Revos. In a snow storm up in Mammoth(northern part of cali, case you didnt know) I was driving around very solid, never really felt worried one bit.

Cooper Discoverer STTs seem to get some good reviews too. Not to noisy either. Mind you, I don't have them, but from what I've read, these would be on my short list for a DD tire that does well in those conditions. The Revos are fine I guess, but the Cooper will probably get you further up the trail.

Re: Calling All Rubber Experts!

if you look for vids of Miss FJ she was doing Moab with stock tires...so they aren't so bad if you wanted to stay with them till they wore down.

Trojans, Best rubber on the market. Just Kidding, I'm going with Cepek FC's, 285/70/17 if I can find that size. My next pick would be Mickey Thompson ATZ's, same size-these are available. These will be my full time street, part time wheelers, with stock alloys. I'm also getting some 16" steelies and have not decided yet on the fulltime offroad tire yet.

Re: Calling All Rubber Experts!

A great street tire with good looks and decent off-road capability is the Yokohama Geolandar. I have a set as my street shoes.

Honestly not sure on the snow/ice capability; looks/feels like they'd be decent.

Definitely priced right.

What 16" steelies did you get?

PS- not sure why you'd want to get rid of the BFGs; they are fine on the street
