I just did a Revtek lift & 33X12.50X17's on mine. Slight rub while turning tight on the left body mount, behind the left front tire. No biggy.
I'm going to remove the tire at some point and try to 'relieve' the body mount a bit with a BFH.
I'm using **** Cepek DC-1 17X9 wheels. The tread is just a touch outside the fenders. If you mount the 33X12.50X17 tires on the stock rims you may not have the rub or extension beyond the fender lips? (OEM backspacing & narrower)
A couple of quick & poorly-done pics after it was done...
BTW, I guess the forum doesn't like Mr. Cepek's first name? LOL
Awesome!!! Although I'm not into chromed or the glass finish rims I do like the tires. I have yet to find the perfect size that will have the same looks or at least close to what you have but without the rubbing.
Ok so please fill us in on the details of the revtek lift's effect on the ride.
I am only planning to do light trails to get to fishing holes and camping. Also want the lifted look and bigger tires. Would I be better off saving myself the $ from getting a real susp lift (OME, Donahoes) by going Revtek. Or would I eventually want to switch to a real lift and lose money on the Revtek.
I will get the revtek if the ride is not a whole lot worse and if I don't lose too much articulation for lite offraoding. I heard you lose a little articulaton from the revtek because the springs are stretched out.
So again, how's the ride on road and off road compared to the stock?
I know that just switching out the tires without the lift can change the stock ride. Is the ride still comfortable enough for a DD?
With the stock wheels I have NO rubbing or anyother problems... and I have ProComp AT 33x12.5..... and yes... the FJC has a 3" lift....
OKay, but what kinda lift? Revtek? OME? what? and don't forget the details about ride quality (onraod and off, see my previous post) .
Also what prices are people are getting for the lift and tires. Did you do it yourself? Did you pay to have it done.
So no rubbing even at full left wheel turn? And of course pics please. I'll send instructions if you don't know how.
These details will help those out who want to have it done but need info for referencing. Thanks in advance!

I've only put maybe 15 street miles on it, but I can tell no difference in ride. My only off-road will be dirt roads or easy trails, so I'll never get to test the real off-roading like many on this forum will (I'm a poser).

Nice tire combo! I think that the tire size is perfect. The Revtek kit lifted the rig by 3 inches, right? Yeah the little rubbing is not a big deal. A smaller rim size 16x8 should solve that. or 17x8's.
Its does look nice, but I really like the wide look. I'm afraid a 17 x 8 rim would make it "too skinny" for me...maybe I'll just have to learn to live with a little rubbing...I'll have to decide...

I used to have a revtek on my Tacoma and the ride was okay (once I found the right tires) for a DD and light trails. I would say it would be the better investment for your needs. IMO, Definitely not recommended for hard trails as I have broken the welds when doing bad stuff (hey, everyone has to learn somehow!)

I currently have the Revtek on my Tacoma...the ride is OK at best. If you budget can handle a more expensive lift (Hoe's, OME's, etc.) I would highly recommend doing it. I test drove the FJ and it is remarkably smooth for the shorter wb. Spacers (Revtek) will significanty stiffen the ride. I DD my taco now and feel every little thing. Though not as bad as some of the older leaf sprung Toy's, it is still much harder riding then I would like. Other things to consider is spacers will cause your springs to sag overtime. Your 3" lift will be 2-2.5" within 6 mos to a year (depending on how much wheeling you do). If youp lan on putting an ARB on it with a winch then definetly get something else besides spacers.
