Question 33 x 12.50 anyone ?

Has anyone fitted 33x12.50's yet? I've seen and heard of 33's but nothing that wide yet...also what about rims? 17x9 or 17x10 good?

I know this would require a lift, but even then, is it possible?

Thanks,
Shannon

Re: 33 x 12.50 anyone ?

I just did a Revtek lift & 33X12.50X17's on mine. Slight rub while turning tight on the left body mount, behind the left front tire. No biggy.

I'm going to remove the tire at some point and try to 'relieve' the body mount a bit with a BFH.

I'm using **** Cepek DC-1 17X9 wheels. The tread is just a touch outside the fenders. If you mount the 33X12.50X17 tires on the stock rims you may not have the rub or extension beyond the fender lips? (OEM backspacing & narrower)

A couple of quick & poorly-done pics after it was done...

BTW, I guess the forum doesn't like Mr. Cepek's first name? LOL

Re: 33 x 12.50 anyone ?

That's good info. Thanks alot. That is the exact sizes I was looking to use. It looks great. The rubbing worries me a little though. I was told by Donahoe Racing that they thought the 12.5" wide tire would rub, but they couldn't tell me how bad it would be.
Does it rub just from turning? or only when turning and the suspension moving significantly?

The pictures look great and I love the wheel tire combo you have. Thanks for taking the time to post the pics.

Just put them on & drove it home, after a short interstate hop to check for tire noise. Noise? More then the Bridgestone Revo's I had, but not bad at all.

Seems to only rub on tight left hand turns. I haven't had it off-road with the 33's yet.

Re: 33 x 12.50 anyone ?

TMT: Those look awesome!!

I was actually looking at those same tires, they're the FC II's, right? It looks like you need an 8.5" wide wheel to accomodate those tires (per the website). Do you know if we could get those on the factory wheels? It's tough to tell from the pics, but how do those look for winter? (e.g. siping, compound, etc)

Re: 33 x 12.50 anyone ?

I love the wider look, but I wouldn't want to go any narrower...and they already rub a little like they sit now according to TMT. It doesn't sound too bad, but I hate for them to rub at all.
Seems strange to me that a 12.5 would rub...it just doesn't seem that wide to me. Also - only rubs on left - ? strange.

I agree it looks great. Love the rims!

It seems the the left body mount is slightly forward of the right side mount, which is strange.
