7 tires and only one was round enough to get balanced properly for me. Maybe it's just the 17" tires that are out of round, I don't know? The extra tread depth of the Nitto's over the Kumho's make the Nitto's a better value IMO. After my experience with Kumho's, I'll be amazed if somebody can actually get 4 17" tires to balance on an FJ. I was getting a full 1 inch of steering wheel shimmy from 45 mph to 60 mph. I'm just passing my experience on to the masses. Go ahead and try them and even blindly praise them if you want. I tried them, they suck.
Yeah sucks about your experience Jelopy and I'd feel the exact same way. Maybe you should have contacted Kumho about that. Even the best tire manufactuers can have a bad run or tires. The Venture's above though DO NOT come in 17's because if they did I would go for them. Instead I'll be going for some of these As for the Nittos damn, I've hated every set I've ever had on my Subbie. They did last forever but for the performance tire they promised to be, they sucked in the rain and were hard as a rock with no grip.

Consumer Reports gave the Terra Grapplers top marks in wet weather...

Bill...bill, every set I had on my Subbie (performance road tires, not the off-road tires) . I raced a set of Nittos for awhile.

And Consumer Reports....PLEAAAASSSEE. They've also rated alot of the same tires excellent that Tire Rack found less than stellar. Heck a few years back a Bridgestone won a tire performance test even though it had the 4th fastest lap time on the race track outta 5 tires.
