265/70/17 nitto grapplers and pro comp 8089 wheels

Ok,

I have a 2wd voo doo blue cruiser that needs some new wheels/tires. I do not plan on putting any lift on my ride due to the size of my garage. I am planning on getting " stock" size, 265/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers with some Pro Comp black/chrome 8089 wheels. My question is what is the difference b/t getting a 17x8 or 17x9 wheel ???? pro's and cons. Any info would be appriciated. Thanks

Hey Motorjock, looks like your question may have been missed!! Have you found any answers to your question yet? I'm not the one to give any "expert" advise on this but I did some looking 'cause your question got me thinking about WHY it would make a difference. I found some info on it in another thread
http://http://www.fjcruiserforums.co...-procomp-7089-. It looks like the rim size kind of depends on the rim profile... eg. Will it clear the brake caliper? It also depends on the tire width, so to me stock tire size=stock rim size. If you're getting a wider tire then maybe a wider rim will be needed. I also remember reading of the forum about certain lifts needing a minimum rim size. I can't find the post but it had to do with rubbing on suspension parts I think.

Hope this helps a little maye someone can add to this and let me know if I'm wrong!!

Thanks,

I am going to hold off on the wheels for now. Plan on getting the tires though, along with a few other things.
