Do I have to do anything special to make the TRD spare fit?

I had my se trd wheels and tires put on this morning, but the tire shop said they couldn't put the spare on the rear with the center cap, so i'm riding around center cap-less on my spare. Do I have to do any trimming or anything to make it fit or should it go right on? Didn't really have any time to mess with it as I had the tires and wheels installed before work and I had to get in to the office.

Re: Do I have to do anything special to make the TRD spare fit?

Had the same problem with a Toyota dealer. They said it would not fit! I took it to my local gas station where they change the oil and rotate the tires. They had to use a screw driver to push a wire back in order to get it to work, nice and tight. I don't think it will fall off any time soon.

It does fit! Good luck!

They're just too lazy to try a couple different ways. If you just "hang" the wheel on the spare tire carrier without pushing it up before you tighten the lug nuts, the carrier will push the center cap off. If you push the tire up a little bit before tightening the lug nuts, like 1/8 inch max, the cap will fit just fine.

Cool, so just take the wheel off, put the center cap back on, then re-mount it?
