steel Wheels

I'm looking for a set of 17"x8" steel wheels for my FJ. What are you folks finding out there that fits without running any spacers. I have a road set of Ultra Goliath Alloys in 17x8 with Cooper Discoverer atr's in LT285-70R17, I have Dick Cepek Mountain Cats in the 285-70-17 size and need a wheel set for them. I also would go with the stock steel wheels if I could find a set.

Re: steel Wheels

I purchased 5 new stock Toyota steelies from a vendor in Oklahoma on EBay (see link below). Price was $55.00 each. Shipping to SoCal with the "volume" purchase discount was VERY reasonable. Fast shipping.

I just had them powdercoated white (going for old school look) for about $45.00 each. They are in the garage just waiting to be put on after I add new coilovers and new shoes.

Here is their Ebay address :
eBay Motors: 17" TUNDRA FJ CRUISER TACOMA NEW TAKE OFF STEEL WHEEL (item 190023977850 end time Oct-17-07 06:17:56 PDT)

Re: steel Wheels

Thanks for the info, if the local Les Swab guy can't find a set (They Do the local Dealerships lifts and wheels) I'll definately be heading to ebay. Saw the other thread yesterday after posting my Q and visited their site.

Thanks, Jim

Re: steel Wheels

Also, keep an eye on the "Parts For Sale" section of this forum. Many members sell their stock black steelies (cheap) after they've upgraded to alloys or fancy wheels.

Smile Re: steel Wheels

Just got a call from the Les Schwab guy, found a set for $50.00 a wheel
Now lets see if I can get them to mount and balance for free since I originally
bought my other rims and these tires from him. Thanks to all replied,

Jim

Re: steel Wheels

Beware, there are some aftermarket steelies out there that doesnt clear the front calipers. so you migth want to do some test fitting before mounting tires on them incase they dont fit.
