Re: Slight clearance issue

should be fine with a 5mm spacer, but measure everything first just to be sure.

you have to disassemble the hub assembly and press out the old studs and then press in the new studs.

Re: Slight clearance issue

Wheeler's Offroad makes/sells a 1/4" spacer for FJs: $5 each

I haven't any experience with them but noticed them while looking at their wheels. From the drill pattern they appear to not be made "specifically" for the FJ but they are friendly on the phone so you could ring them and ask them for more details.

Cheers,

Re: Slight clearance issue

I have used the 2" wheels adapters from here on my lifted 350 dually (with 35x 12.50 in the rear they touched with out the spacers). 4 years and 40,000 miles on them no problems.

Lug Nuts Wheel Adapters Spacers Lug Bolts

The 1/4 inch spacers you need are 9 bucks a pair. Should get you rollin in style. Lets see pics of the installed set up.

Re: Slight clearance issue

You can have a brake shop put the rim on there lathe and trim just a millimeter or so in just the specific area of the rim where it rubs. Would not affect the strength of the rim. Have done it before on My FJ40 on rims hitting the steering ball joint. Good luck which ever way you go.

Re: Slight clearance issue

At this point, I'm having my credit card dispute the situation with the vendor. The rings for the beadlocks were not the right thickness and they refuse to send me the proper rings. They said I can return it, but I'll have to pay a 25% restocking fee. I'm not inclined to pay restock fees for items that I didn't order. They plain sent me the wrong rings so it just needs to go back. I'm asking Discover Card to dispute the charges as the vendor has all but went silent. I still have the wheels and will return it when I know more from Discover. Actually at this point, I'm not sure what to do. Return the wheels and just deal with the 25% fee with Discover or wait for Discover to tell me what to do. They said I'd get something in the mail about their decision. It will take up to 90 days they said. Grrr.
