No problem, an added note....I would think the 315/70/16 would fit just fine...maybe a rear bump stop extension would be needed but that should be easy to do. I will be going for that size next time around...after being regeared and inchwormed

Well if you want more rubber for the trail down size to a 16" rim you can get mine @

wheelers offroad

they are very helpful, and will get you what you are looking for!! hope this helps! Just make sure what ever 16" rim you are getting is compatible with fj cruiser brake calipers they are quite large!!

What I think would be useful (and I am searching for ti and can't find it) is a little matrix with peoples recommendations. One axis would be the truck (stock, 3" lift, etc) the other matrix would be conditions you drive in (street, on road w snow, tracks and lanes, etc) and then get some recommendations where the criteria intersect.

So as an example if my truck is stock and I use it 90% on road, some winter snow and ice and some fields, tracks, lanes etc what do other members recommend in terms of wheels and tires (granted that OEM rubber will probably work well in those conditions).

If I had the knowledge and expertise I would put the matrix together.

I have ran the yokohama geo II in some nasty mud they fair well and are also a good road tire.

is it me or do the nitto terra grapplers and the toyo at's have almost exactly the same tread pattern?

Toyo makes the TGs for Nitto... based on the ATs, hence the similarities.
