Tires for TRD Wheels and Body Mount Chop inquiry

I searched but couldn't find the answer i was looking for. So I ask you this, will the TRD 16" wheel fit LT305/70R16 Tires? I'm looking to have the 6" Rough Country lift put on, and am having trouble with wheel/tire combinations, I really like the TRDs and was wondering what kind of tire I can fit on it, please enlighten me. I was looking at the tire reviews and got lost, the wheel is 7.5in wide, but the tire is 12.5 how does this work? Suggestions and ideas are welcome. I would like something trouble free with no rubbing along with a tire that is capable off road and on road. Thanks in advance

8 would be better, but I think 7.5 is fine. I've seen plenty of folks running those size rims without issues.

Re: Tires for TRD Wheels

Depending on the tire you may require a wheel spacer at that tire width. Some have reported rubbing on the UCA's with agressive sidewall tires in 12.5" amd stock offset wheels.

Of course you will need the body mount chop as well.

EDIT: Nevermind, I misread your post and thought you were doing a 3" lift. For a 6" lift I have no idea what works!

The Rough Country 6" lift was developed for 35 x 12.50 x 17" tire on after market wheels with 4.5/8" of back spacing on a 8" wide wheel. You will have to do a body mount chop also.

The TRD wheels will not work, since the are 16".

Shameless plug: When you order your lift kit, ask them about tires & wheels. they carry Mickey Thompson, Maxxis, Interco and D*ck Cepek tires.

Re: Tires for TRD Wheels

I searched for more info on the body chop, but there seem to be no technical data about it, that I can find. I'm looking for a crash coarse on body chops, what they are, and whether or not I can do it myself. If there is a thread on the matter, please link me. Thanks guys, your help is much appreciated.

Re: Tires for TRD Wheels

285/75 x 16 fit well on the TRD wheels. I have this combo on mine w/the Toyo M/T's. No need for spacers, and they are still 33's, just 11.5 wide.

Metal-tech Body mount chop
I found myself blowing at the screen to get the smoke out to see better...

another point, I really like these procomp wheels, 9005 Knight-Chrome™

but they don't come in 4 5/8" backspacing, what is the worst that could happen if I put wheels on with 4.5" back spacing?

Re: Tires for TRD Wheels

Check out wheelers off road.com they have small 1/4" spacers that might help get that backspacing you are looking for.
