Tirepackage.com

Just thought I would give my experience here as there was limited information on these guys and several inquiries in the past.

SAME COMPANY AS 4WHEELPARTS.COM
There has been a lot of complaints about 4wheelparts.com if you search here or in google. I believe These are in fact the same company or at least sister companies. 4wheelparts has store locations in several states, so you will likely have to pay tax even on an internet purchase. TirePackage headquarters are in California, so I am not sure how they separated the two entities, but only Cali residents pay tax.

I had my suspicion they were the same or very related entities because the product graphics, checkout, tire calculator, specs, etc were the same on both sites. Also, when I was trying to get something straightened out one morning with tirepackage.com, I got transferred or put into a support queu that was picked up by an individual who identified themselves as 4wheelparts.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH TIREPACKAGE
Since I went into the transaction with my eyes wide open. I purchased on a CC so I could dispute if necessary. They had a great deal on the package I wanted though they were backordered on the Teflon Chamber, so I was prepared to wait it out.

As I suspected, they were disorganized, but they are a large organization pulling from inventory at several stores as needed (probably 4wheelparts locations). You have to watch everything carefully, some of the people I talked to came across as really inept. I ended up canceling my lug order hours after I placed it. Despite a follow-up call, the lugs still came with my shipment. BTW, the lugs they send are over-priced and Chinese-prison camp quality. They had speckled pits in the chrome. For the same price you can get nice Gorilla lugs.

I called to get this my missing covers resolved and the guy I worked with never sent the label via email. Also, they never sent an email invoice like they said they would. I ordered via phone, not the website. When I called back on the lug issue they had no record of my request so I had to start over and the second guy I worked with was very proficient and professional. The label came while I was on the phone.

With the hub covers, only one shipped and after a few calls I got the others sent but they did not match the first. I don't know if AR went to a different cover, but the model number is different. The first was plastic, the last 4 were metal and a different design. They sent them pretty quickly though and after another call they sent a 5th for the mismatch on the original shipment.

The tires were well balanced with tape-type weights. Overall I got a great deal, the prices are a little better than their sister company 4wheelparts, and the tax savings makes a huge difference but you need to baby-sit these guys.

Re: Tirepackage.com

thanks for the feedback. I've found the best price at performance products - but i've never bought anything from them so i haven't ordered yet. couple huns less than 4wheel parts, no tax and free shipping.

Thx for the info. I'll have to keep that in mind for future reference.

Re: Tirepackage.com

I ordered last week 4 33 inch Mud Country Dick Cepek tires on Tire Package.com.

They wanted $823.00 + shipping, no tax. Not bad, so I went for it.

Then I get a call about another product I ordered with the tires. That item was back-ordered so they wanted to know what I wanted to do. The Caller ID came up as 4 wheel parts.com.

I said...mmm.

So I checked 4 wheel parts.com prices on the same tires.

After calling and telling them what I found...I was quoted $802.00 + tax with free shipping. I asked if they would wave the tax and they did.

The tires arrived within a week with no problems.

So in short...do your homework. Even the same companies (with different sites) can charge you different prices.
