5 Tire rotation

Is there a proper way to rotate in the spare tire for rotation?

Yes. Check the owner's manual. The spare goes to the pass. side rear, the pass. rear goes to the pass. side front and the pass. side front goes to the spare position. You can just switch the driver's side tires.

Re: 5 Tire rotation

I have 20000 miles on my FJ, and the dealer has rotated the 4 tires every 5000 with each oil change.

If its in the manual to have the spare rotated in, why didn't my dealer service department do it like that?

Is it too late with 20000 miles on the 4 tires to rotate in the spare?

Re: 5 Tire rotation

you'll love this. my dealer's service writer had never even heard of a 5 tire rotation. i had to educate this twelve year old and show him the manual. can you believe that this kid actual photocopied my manual to show the tech? it's hard to find good help.

Re: 5 Tire rotation

But if you're rotating 2 tires on one side of the rig and 3 tires on the other side isn't that going to cause some issues down the road (so to speak)? For example, after 50,000 miles you'll have 2 tires with 50,000 miles on them, 2 tires with 35,000 miles on them, and the spare will have 30,000 miles.
