Tire Advice

Ok folks, looking for some input/advice on a new set of tires. Currently running M/T MTX's, here is a list of my possibilties. I want something that is gonna be good both on and off road. Let me hear the good, bad and ugly on em.

1. BFG KM2
2. Hankook MT DynaPro
3. M/T MTZ

Thanks
Dave

Re: Tire Advice

FJ Marine, there are quite a few threads on these tires. Do a quick search and you'll see how many people have spoke up.

Re: Tire Advice

Thanks FJamming, just started checking the other threads out. I'm pretty sure I know which one I'm gonna run but was looking to see if anyone had any comparisons between the 3.

I got Dick Cepek MudCountry's and I love them. They are made by Mickey Thompson. They handle great on the highway (even at 80mph) and really great on the trail.

Re: Tire Advice

Just a quick thought. You may want to PM FJ-Ollie for the Dynapro. SSC did a very extensive review of the KM2. I'm not sure of the MTZ. Hope that's a good starting point for you. Personally I would prefer the KM2 due to the glowing review SSC gave them. Good luck.

After all the reading that is the one I am leaning towards for sure.

Re: Tire Advice

if you're looking for an MT, i love my toyo MTs. quiet for a MT, they have been wearing great, handle good on the street, and handle the Louisiana mud pretty well. Though they are on the expensive side....

x3 on the KM2, but I know a lot of people who swear by the MTZ's as well. I've recently picked up a set of 285's, I love 'em. Surprisingly smooth on pavement, but if you were to run them all the time (I swap out w/ stock tires for commuting during the week), it might be worth it to get at least the center tread siped if you get a lot of rain.

Went playing in the snow for a bit just last night, and I was pleased with performance & and self-cleaning tread. Haven't had a chance to try them in mud yet...everything is covered in afformentioned snow .

FYI the KM2's in the 285/70/17 (smallest size released so far) are very popular and have been back-ordered everywhere I looked in m area. I had to wait about 6 weeks for mine.
