Re: Leveling kit and max tire size

First of all, welcome to the forum Ed.

If you use the "search" function on the forum, you will have many hours of reading pleasure concerning your questions.

There are a couple of things you can do to lift the front only an inch or two and make it look more level with the back - spacer lifts (there are many choices) or for improved performance OME 883 coil springs. There are lots of threads on both of these ideas.

On tire size there is no simple answer; too many variables of tire brand, tread style, driving style, intended use, etc. A lot of folks are running 285/70/17 tires; some rub without a body mount chop and some don't. If you could be more specific about what kind of tires you want to run or what you want to do with your FJC you would probably get more specific advice.

Have fun with it in any event.

Re: Leveling kit and max tire size

Daystar Spacer lift with Goodyear Silent Armor 275/70/17's are a perfect fit with no rub (and an awesome tire btw). I have nothing against the OME's but I paid $250 installed for my Daystar Spacer lift. Some folks rub with just one size bigger 285/70/17 and to the naked eye they look the same. The difference in actual size is a fraction of an inch. I say why risk it for a fraction of an inch if it isn't going to help you off road at all.

Re: Leveling kit and max tire size

Thank you guys for the reply. I dont wont to make mine too big and thought that a leveling kit and slightly bigger tires (more aggresive) would suit me fine. I read a few theards on here but none answered my question, and I give up on looking for it so I thought this would be faster. I want to do something pretty quick. The tires I was looking at are the pro comp mt or micky thompsom atz. I was also wondering what yall thought about these tires. thank you
