Smile Swapping Steel Wheels W/tpms For Alloys

New to forum with BIG question: I have a new 2008 FJ with black factory steel wheels equipped with the TPMS. I want to buy and mount OE Toyota alloy wheels and mount the tires which came with the FJ on the new alloy wheels.
Q1: Will the TPMS valve stems/TPMS transmitter combo mounted on my current steel wheels fit on the alloy wheels? Before you answer...I have read that the steel wheels use "rubber" pull-thru stems but that the alloy wheels use a nut to secure the stem. Since the 2007 FJs did not come with TPMS, is it correct to assume that I should ensure that the alloy wheels that I buy are the 2008 models in order for the receivers to seat properly inside the rim? How can you tell the difference between a 2007 and 2008 Toyota OE alloy wheel?
Finally, must the sensors be recalibrated? (dealer says YES-$$$) fellow selling the alloys says no because I am reinstalling the same set...
Thanks...
