A choice between five MT tires

I've narrowed down my search for a set of 35's to the following. If you have direct experiance with any or all chime in.

Procomp xtreme M/T

BFG TA KM2 (these look like my obvious pick but I *think* I read somewhere that they are a failure on rock)

BFG MT KM

Micky Thompson MTZ

Micky Thompson Baja Claw

Like alot of others I want an good to great road tire that kicks it on rock, I'm ok with faily good in the mud.

I have and love BFG MT KM. Amazingly quiet on the highway, great in snow, slick rock, loose gravel, sand, silt and crawl through mud like budda.

I've run BFG MT's for a few years now on my trucks. I love them, but I don't rock crawl so I can't say how good they are on rocks. It is a Mud terrian not a Rock terrian. Aggressive looks but nice street manners. My 2 cents.

Re: A choice between five MT tires

dude, with what you described as your want, you need the Goodyear MTR. on that list, i can tell you that i am destroying my 35" MTZ's that have less than 1k on them. rocks eat them, they perform well, but are super delicate. i wont be buying a second set. the MTR is what is going on my jeep, proven to be one of the best tires in loose stuff and rocks. toyo MT's are going on my FJ because they are the best road MT out.

Re: A choice between five MT tires

I just put the KM2's on my FJ to replace my A/T KO's which had 94% tread left (I have other uses for them) I reaaaalllly love the look of the KM2, the handling is fine, when starting off from a dead stop, I can feel a slight vibration and after about 10MPH it is gone, they hum at 80MPH but nothing A/C or radio at low volumes cannot drown out. Haven't had a chance to take them off road yet, and probably won't for a while. Where did you hear that they were slackers in the rocks?
