Finally! A solution for American Racing Center Caps!

This is for those who received American Racing rims and got the wrong caps that do not fit. AR makes plastic and metal caps. The plastic ones are too thick to fit over Toyota hubs and therefore do not fit. The metal ones will. They DO make teflon covered metal caps. Thanks to J-Rock and my friends at Discount Tire I have a set on my Victors Finally! I am making a small list of part numbers. So far this is what I have:

1425006018 - This is a metal Teflon covered cap for the Thug wheel.

1425096017 - This is a metal Teflon covered cap number given to me by Delray. I think they are the ones made for the Chamber wheel.

1425002020 - This is a metal Chrome cap. You can find these on the AR website for $11.99.
Link: American Racing 1425002020 - American Racing Center Caps - summitracing.com

1425092020 - This is metal a Chrome cap, short style. Only 2.5" tall oppose to the conventional 4.5" ones. I ordered a set of these because I might like them better because they are shorter than the ones I found. Unfortunately they are not Teflon. I am going to compare them and see which ones I like better.

1425001s - This is a metal Polished cap with a logo in the center. These are the ones that are suppose to go with the Victor wheel.
Link: American Racing 1425001S - American Racing Center Caps - summitracing.com

1425091s - This is a metal Polished center cap with logo in the center. Only 2.5" tall oppose to the conventional 4.5" ones. Note: I tried to order these but Summit only had 1 left and said they are discontinued. Haven't hit up AR about it though.
Link: American Racing 1425091S - American Racing Center Caps - summitracing.com

I found most of these numbers at this website:
American Racing - summitracing.com

If you have another number, especially for a teflon covered cap please add it to this post. Numbers are found on a sticker on the inside of the cap. Take any of these numbers and go to your local tire center to see if they can order them for you from American Racing. Note: the Teflon caps are not cheap! I paid over $100 for a set of 5!

Happy hunting!
I will add pictures of mine soon!

You may want to check Wheeler's Offroad if you are on a bit of a budget. Custom Toyota Wheels from Wheeler's Off-Road

Summit is asking 4 to 5 tims as much $$ for their plain caps. Just my .02

You're welcome, I'm glad I could help. I can't believe they charged you $100 for a set of 5. Especially when I got mine included w/the ATX Thugs.

That looks like the same universal centercap Centerline gave me (except they had a logo on theirs).

Re: Finally! A solution for American Racing Center Caps!

Yes, they are a great deal. I found those on line and they should fit the AR wheel just fine. I didn't get them though because I like the shape of the plain caps from AR and the size I found, only 2.5" Tall. If you go to Discount Tire (Also known as America's Tire Company) you can actually get the plain, 4.5" tall chrome caps that go with black steelies for free (they look very similar to the ones Wheeler's Off Road offer). That's what they put on my wheels when they couldn't get my plastic ones to fit. I think they are ugly though and looked really bad on my teflon wheels. If you go to the AR website you can order the 4.5" Chrome caps (Same ones offered by Summit) for 11.99 each. A little cheaper.

And yes $100 for 5 teflon caps IS outrageous! And AR finally got back to me saying I need to buy them! Which means to me that they are not going to pay me back. Makes me mad! Anyways, I am sure that caps offered by other companies like Eagle and such will fit as well. If you find web sites that offer them add them here. It will be nice to have one thread to find all kinds of different options. I know I could have used one.

I got my MB Razor wheels from Discount and the plastic caps that came with them did not fit, either. They gave me the exact same 4.5" tal chrome caps you got, only they looked pretty good with my wheels, since they had a polished, machined finish, and not the Teflon.

I have had them for two years now and they still look okay, only they have some surface rust. But they do not look any worse for wear than my wheels do, so I decided to just leave them on. If I ever do buy new wheels, I will most certainly replace these caps, as well!

Do you have spacers on by chance? And/or are you sure they are plastic not metal? You can tell by the lip of the cap. Metal are flat and the plastic are raised.

1425006018 - This is a metal Teflon covered cap for the Thug wheel. Here are pictures of mine. They look kinda long to me but everyone says they look just fine. I guess I have been running without caps for so long I am use to the way they looked before.

Looks nice with the teflon caps. Hey what size did most of you go with the 17" or 18" and what offset zero or the neg. Im just getting ready to pick out a wheel tire combo, and I will be using a set of spider trax spacers.

I went w/18x9 & -12mm offset since that was the only option available in 18's for the ATX Thug (for an FJ Cruiser). Many ATX-series wheels from AR will require you to either have a lift or use matching oem tire overall diameter due to the crazy offsets (to avoid rubbing when turning). In otherwords if you don't have a lift then you can't use MT/AT tires. Whatever AR wheels you get, make sure to get the part # that ends in 83 since that's the version w/the 108mm hub.
