Advice please: Widest tire possible for 8" rim?

Hi Guys,
I am trying to figure out if i can upgrade my tires upon my next change, and i am getting the feeling that i can go bigger with tires. Now, i got 315x75x16 (35"x12.5) on 16x8 AR Chamber teflons. I was hoping i can go to a 13.5 wide tire or even 14.5. Is it possible or am i just pushing it. I know that i dont have the perfect offroad wheels, or beadlocks but i would like to hear it from those with experience
Thanks in advance.
Abdul

Abdul, I don't have personal experience with wider tires, but I remember being told that 315 is the biggest that you should go with 8".

Yeap, i have heard and read the same. 12.50 is about the most you should push on an 8inch wide rim.

Aren't you already rubbing on those 35s? Going wide is going to make it rub even more. What's left that you can trim?

Actually i can shave a little bit more, but if i decided to go ahead that is going to be a long term plan, at least when i have 4.88 gears
