Aha, thanks Jon.
My wheel man told me that the only size that he could get in 16 was the 16x8 with 3.75 bs. Would running the 34x10.50 (pizza cutters) be an issue if i had the mount chopped?
I've not experienced this combo first hand, but here's my thinking.

I clear with a 35x12.50 equivalent (and a chop) using 4.0" backspace.

You'd be sticking out a quarter inch more, but your tire would be 2 inches narrower. That's an inch on the outside and an inch inside.

By my seat-o-the-pants calculation, that puts your outer edge INWARD (toward the frame) 3/4 of an inch compared to mine. It's also closer to the hub by half an inch.

By my thinking: if I clear, you clear BETTER.

Things that would confuse the issue include the MEASURED size of my tire vs. it's advertised size and the measured size of YOUR tire vs. the advertized size. My tire is a 315/75/16 that calculates out to be basically 35x12.50, but it measures more like a 34. Interco tires measure much closer to advertised according to what I hear, and my 42" IROK's (for my crawler project) are really really close to 42" diameter.

Nevertheless, I still think that at worst, your tires will be as big around as mine, but narrower... and they'll clear better than mine... as long as our chops are about the same!

... free advice, and you get what you pay for.

had those wheels!! you get what you pay for. They were cutt off center and i ender up having to scrap them after wheelers offroad wouldnt even give me the time of day to get the wheels back to them. i have 34x10.5x17 LTBs on my stock toyota steelies. Works perfect. i actually even got some spacers to get the wheels out further. just like bandi.

Re: pro comp series 87 wheel ?

Layton, imho, a 4 backspace would be perfect. If you can get it to just clear the calipers, you'll have the most room from mounts (assuming you clear the UCA). Too much backspacing and you hit UCA, too much and you hit the mounts. If you have caster set forward most, you'll have a little more room against the mounts too. If you keep your BS between 4 and 4.5, you should be fine. I have room to spare. Mounts are not chopped btw.

The 34 LTBs in 16" size will measure close to 33.5"

Re: pro comp series 87 wheel ?

Jon and Tony, thanks tons for the advice. Wheels are an area i have never dealt with before on a vehicle.
I need to schedule an appt. with a 4x4 shop that specializes in custom fab work to get the mount chopped this week.
Dmitry, i am ordering the wheels an tires through a local offroad shop that i have dealt with for years. If something goes wrong they will make it right, but thanks for the heads up.
I'll be placing my order either today or tommorrow. And i will for sure post up some pics when i get them installed
