I am about to buy some pro comp series 87 wheels to mount 34x10.50r16 Super Swamper LTB's on. The shop i am going to be getting them from said they can get them in a "16X8 6X5.5 4.25" B/Spacing Pro-Comp Black Rock Crawler wheel".
My question is will these work without a spacer and my OME lift and body mount chopped? I have searched but the only thing i found was this wheel with either a 4" or 4.5" backspacing. So i didn't know if this one would work or not.
I don't know much about wheels and i searched.
thanks guys
Layton, for some reason this wheel sounds an alarm. I seem to remember that this was one that looks like it would fit, but doesn't. Is this the one that's replaced by another model? Series 97? Sorry I can't say for certain yes or no.

I did a little research on here. And it appears that the 97 won't fit. The holes in the front are pressed in so it leaves a little metal sticking out the back side of the hole and the 87's are laser cut so not metal sticking out the back.
In the two attached pictures, the first one is the 87 and the second is the 97 you can see what i am talking about.
Okay, now i am a little more confused. Wheeler's has this wheel available with a 4" or 4.5" backspacing available. But, my local shop can only get it in the 4.25" backspacing. On procomps website, they also only have the 4.25 in" backspacing as well.
Layonn,
I have the series 87 wheel in a 4.5 inch backspace and am running 255/85-16s. I think you'll be okay with your body mount chopped from a rubbing standpoint. As far as the caliper is concerned you have no worries. I might be mistaken but the 4.25" BS should help you from a rubbing standpoint as opposed to the 4.5" like I'm running. Better yet, would probably be wheeler's 4 inch BS. Somebody, please correct me if I'm backwards here.

So, now my wheel man tells me he can get the 87 series wheel with a 3.75 inch back spacing.
Wouldn't this put the wheel closer to the brake calipers and the tire even closer to the UCA???

I hate when this happens.....I too had my heart set on the 97's.....grrrrrr....I really like the "big hole" pattern. Now I read that the old wagon wheel design that Procomp has will work....767 and the 51 I think....

Tony, give me some credit brother. I read that post like 3-4 times. That "x-factor" part that is mentioned was mention in another thread for the 97 series wheel in that it wouldn't fit because of it.
I am looking at around 330 with tax for the wheels from my local shop or 360 for the 4.5 inch bs wheels from wheeler's offroad (both the procomp 87 series wheel). I know the wheeler's wheel fits with larger than stock tires. However, 360 is a lot when i don't even really care about looks, just need them as wheels to mount Swampers. So trying to find some tundra steelies in a 16" still with no luck.

Less backspace means the wheel sticks out MORE, so it's away from the upper control arm... however it swings a wider arc and is more likely to bring the tire up to your body mount chop.

Aha, thanks Jon.
My wheel man told me that the only size that he could get in 16 was the 16x8 with 3.75 bs. Would running the 34x10.50 (pizza cutters) be an issue if i had the mount chopped?
