Not true at all. That rig was driven between trails for the Ultimate Adventure. I'll admit that the 39" Krawlers aren't exactly a DD tire(especially since they were the sticky red labels), but the Ultimate FJ will handle the freeway without any issues and is quite stable at freeway speeds.
Also, I know it isn't necessarily for everyone, but don't be suprised to start seeing an outbreak of similarly built FJs popping up across the country in the near future. Just like with any 4wheeler, people will learn to build them to handle the most extreme terrain. When these vehicles start falling out of their warranty period, they will begin to get seriously modified. My guess is that 35s-37s will be the norm on these rigs by then. Not just 33s.
Did you look at my link? Maybe some places won't/wouldn't sell the 39's because they weren't DOT approved. Doesn't mean you still can't find a way to buy them.

You mean the blue font stuff on the bottom of your message? I missed it.

Until now, you could only enjoy the 39/13.50R17 BFGoodrich® Krawler™ T/AKXtire off-road. Now the massively successful rock-crawling tire carries DOT approval, meaning it can be driven on-road and off.
