BBS Wheels

I have the upgraded BBS Alloy wheels that came with my FJ and in reading some of the posts about wheels I read that one of the downsides to this wheel is that the inside of the wheel is not set back enough so therefore it is easily scratched when off-roading. For those that have aftermarket wheels are your wheels not getting scratched because of their design or eventually after time will all wheels become scratched and beat up because of the very nature of what off-roading does to the wheels? If that is the case should I look for a wheel that I can just re-paint after they take a beating?

Re: BBS Wheels

I LOVE THOSE WHEELS..... There is a smal used car dealer near me that has a VB with them on it. The truck is an import from Florida(we have a flood of used cars coming up from the states with our high dollar these days) and I am seriously thinking of going in there and asking the guy if he would consider my wheels and tires and some cash to trade for the BBS's.....Assuming he has no idea what he has since to buy they are almost $250 a piece.....

Re: BBS Wheels

Yes, they are nice looking but they don't look so nice all scratched up. The cheapest I could find them was a Toyota dealer in Jacksonville selling them for $205.00.

Re: BBS Wheels

Why not get a second set of steel wheels and some off road tires for your off road adventures? Custom Toyota Wheels from Wheeler's Off-Road

Re: BBS Wheels

That sounds like a good idea. Could I get a set of 16" wheels and just swap them out when I want to go off-roading?
