Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ Review

my Baja ATZ's are about a month old now so i thought i would go ahead and write a review.

Overal personal rating A+

i dont know of anyone else with these tires so i wanted to be different but at the same time i wanted something that looked aggressive but didnt kill my gas mileage. that all went out the window when i decided to go with
305/70/16's. as of now the only complaint i have is how loud they are. right around 35 mph they start to humm. they are not so loud that i cant talk on the phone or hear my radio at a decent volume so the loudness is bareable. they handle great, no problems on street in dry or wet, very heavy rain they do great. no problem with hydroplaining at all. off road they do great as well. i havnt done any crazy whellin yet but overall in the mud and basic trails i have to complaints. i few weeks ago i was out messing around with a friend and accidently found a very muddy area. i wasnt ready for it but thank goodness i was already in 4 wheel drive. the fj never stopped and climbed right out, pic below. after my heart started beating again (i was far from home, no recovery gear, and i wasnt exactly on my land... it was a road but all grass) i looked at my buddy and said "damn good thing i bought good tires..."

a lot of people have asked me how much they killed my gas mileage. the honest answer is i really dont know. my fj is also my work vehicle and i have yet to have a consistantly used tank of gas. i have had 2 good road trips on the highway with the tires but it always seems like because of weather my driving has never been consistant. i am leaving again today for a highway trip so maybe i can run some numbers and get back to you. i have gotten between 180 and 260 miles till the light comes on...

i have not used them in snow

i forgot to mention this... im not so sure about the A/T definition of this tire. on the side wall of the tire in very small lettering it says, M/T with sidebitters. not sure what to think about that...
