I ordered (4) BFG A/T 285/70R17 for $845.00 & free shipping. Is this a 1/2 way dec. deal for mail order? First time getting tire's in the mail,(Pucker factor @ 9.5) hope I get what I think I'm getting. I talked to tire shop & they said $60.00 to mount & bal. all 4. I could not even come close to that price for BFG's locally. 265/70r17's were even more than that. Good Deal ???
Best way to find out if it is a good deal is to call everyone within a distance you are willing to drive for purchase and service and compare the price. $905 for 4 tires mounted and balanced seems decent from where I sit. I priced 5 BFT MT tires in a 285 the other day and it came out to $1500 mounted, balanced with extra warranty.
Ya, the local #'s I was getting for the BFG's was around $1400 to $1500. They are black wall tires,but that's what I want anyway. There are 2 vendor's, (Ebay), The one I went through was Patriot Tire & wheel- The other I was looking at is Whole sale tire outlet. If you give me a little time I'll get the vender #'s for both. The search on ebay for off road tires stinks, hard to find what your looking for// the same stuff never comes up twice ???
