We can't get these tires that's why we aren't running them. I've looked into them before I got the LTBs.
Yes, you can.

Try here: 21st Century Tires: Simex Container Handling Equipment Tires

Or same company....but out of Florida:

21st Century Tires: Simex SUV Tires

I know a guy that ran these tires. They were nothing special, compared to a regular Interco Narrow Super Swamper.

That design is basically just the narrow Super Swamper (original TSL design) with slightly different tread....though the more open centers of the SS TSL will give you better cleaning due to the higher void ratio as well as higher contact pressure.

This will list some info on these specific tires from Interco:

Narrow S.S. :: Interco Tire

Sean

Re: Wide Tires vs Skinny Tires

I'm happy with my 12.5's. I've seen a lot of older jeeps run some pretty steep grades with narrow tires.

Sean, the Simex tires of interesta are the Extreme Trekker 2, and Jungle Trekker 2, which are not listed on that site you posted. Actually that site offers tires for working equipment such as lifts containers, and industrial applications.

I'm more interested in something like this:

Tony, that'll be nice and quiet on the hwy . I'm narrowing down to a ProComp AT or Xterrain, or a BFG AT in a 285 75 16. I hope to have rubber in a week or so.

Here's an idea.....check BOTH links before you post.

The Extreme Trekker and Jungle Trekker 2 are listed on the second one out of Florida.

Chris, I'm well trained now. I wouldn't mind swapping my B-17s for a group of P51s.

You hax. How did you do that?! I'll check them out. Maybe for the next set of tires. 35X9.5X16s sounds interesting. Overkill maybe, but you never know until you try it.

Re: Wide Tires vs Skinny Tires

I'm telling you right now....save your money. If you want that kind of tire with better performance, for less money, get the Narrow Super Swamper TSL.

Hey didn't say I was going to buy it. I'm going to look into it. Yes, the SS is nice too. The skid depth of 27/32 is impressive as well.

btw, are you still coming next weekend to BB?

Re: Wide Tires vs Skinny Tires

The question is not weather one individual tire is better than any other - the question is weather narrower tires are better than wider tires - in general.

I am really enjoying the discussion...

Nope. Haven't been since I was told I couldn't participate. I made other plans for that weekend before finding out that the Toyota Trail Teams reversed their decision to allow me to go. It sucks, I really wanted to go, but instead I'm going the weekend after (17th) with a bunch of Hummers/Jeeps.
