Make your own. The rims are Cragar Soft 8 steel wheels with steel weld-on beadlock rings. An in expensive solution for wheels that are going to be thrashed in the rocks.

Yes, but many "DIY" beadlock kits place the vehicle weight on the bolts....not the wheel. There's a significiant difference in a properly designed beadlock wheel with a "shelf" for the tire's bead and the vehicles weight to sit on versus one where the bead sits on and relies on the shear strength of the small grade 8 bolts to support the vehicle's weight.
As for Allied steel beadlocks...they are inexpensive for a reason....the outer ring is EXTREMELY thin and gets bent and even tears too easily for my tastes.
Oh, and anodized colored rings look like ass after a few rock trail rides....JFYI. If you plan to actually wheel, go with a solid color unless you don't mind all the gouges in the ring tearing off the anodized color and making the wheel really show how beat up it is from a distance.
If I was looking for ultimate strength without concern for weight, the steel Stazworks would be the way I'd go....especially with an inner and outer lock on that particular brand for no extra charge.

Good to know. I do want to be able to get on rocks in the future when I move back to Montana, so maybe I should look into forged so I don't have to upgrade again. You mentioned internal locks too. What wheels have an internal and external lock ring? Do you know anything about the centerline ICE wheels? They are forged, internal beadlock, and DOT approved. Also very expensive.... but they look pretty cool too.
Staun is one of the few companies I know of offering internal beadlocks....they can go in ANY wheel you choose. They don't have the bling factor of people being able to even tell you have beadlocks.
As for wheels with internal and extrenal lock rings....you can get them made by most of the premier lock makers....Trail Ready, Stazworks includes them by the design, H1 Hummer wheels, Champion, and others. There's usually a pretty hefty (several hundred $$$) option to add an inner lock and you have to be CERTAIN the new ring will clear your steering linkage and knuckles/brakes.
Don't know anything about Centerline's ICE wheels. I've never had good experiences with Centerline or Weld Racing wheels (I used to sell them at a couple of different offroad shops). In spite of their claims about how great their forgings were, I had lots of warranty returns for failures. I'd say the quality didn't match the Alcoa branded wheels at all....not even close. For all I know Alcoa might have made Welds (in particular) for them....but they certainly didn't make them to the same specs.

I'm looking to upgrade to new wheels and I am certain I want beadlocks. I wheel in lots of deep sand, so running very low pressure requires a bead lock.
I'm trying to decide between the walker evans, KMC enduro, Champion Rock Thrasher, Hutichinson rock monster, or the Center Line I.C.E. DOT approved wheel.
Is anyone running any of these wheels? Any others you guys recommend I look into?
I have ordered the Trail Ready ones the Military speced black and Sun Fusion ring. From what I can see they work for me. and they are local so I didn't have to ship them.. check them out TRAILREADY
I looked at everything out there and liked them the best. Besides for all 5 only 2K so well priced also. They take about 8 weeks to get..

How the F do dual bolt ring style beadlocks mount? It's a bit of a grunt getting the inner bead over the outer rim onto the wheel, so I imagine it's a major PITA to get it over the next edge, especially when you're traversing a couple of bolting rings too.
Is there something fundamentally different about how they rig the inner ring?

Probably a lot like my PITA Trail Readys. You can't get the old one off, so you have to take it to a tire shop to have them dismounted using a tire machine. Takes all of 5 minutes to do 4 and they charge you $40. What a rip.
Well, I do know the inner rings are just a tad smaller in OD which I assume would make it doable at home....provided you had Tyre Pliers or some sort of specialized tools (more than a tire spoon).
After dicking with mine for so many hours....it was worth every flipping penny to just pay Discount Tire to dismount them.
Mounting was relatively easy by comparison.

So Sean,
If money were no object, what wheels would you run on your rig? What are you running now?

If money were no object.....hmmm, tough one. Here's the problem: I need weird offsets. Since you can't really choose offsets on forged aluminum wheels, that sorta nixes them for me.
If I could get any offset I wanted in a forged aluminum Alcoa, (I really don't care about what the inner wheel looks like), I'd probably get a Mickey Thompson Classic forged aluminum Alcoa, and then send it to someone....probably Trail Ready and have them beadlock both inner and outer.
Since I can't get any offset, I'm stuck with steelies. I like my current wheels (Trail Readys) mostly (to be honest) b/c they look good....well, and they also are well designed; placing the load of the vehicle weight back on the wheel where it's supposed to be. They, however, are a ROYAL PITA to mount and dismount b/c they have such big bead seats inner and outer. I don't need an inner beadlock for the tires I currently run (Maxxis Competition Compound Creepy Crawlers 40x13.5-17), but if money were no object, I might have gotten them on the inners as well.
For the most cost effective, strong solution that still looks nice, is an excellent design (protected bolts, inner and outer beadlock, various backspacing offsets) but is a little heavy....Stazworks is the best value for the money.
I really like the look of my TRs....but when I (rarely) have to dismount the tires from them.....I really wish I'd gone with Stazworks.
Sorry it took so long to respond.
