Re: Toyota's Special Service Campaign (SSC)--60D For 2007 FJ Cruiser
I too received a notice on this in Late July/Early August but never did anything. Last week my dealer (Day Toyota in Pleasant Hills, PA) called me to schedule a time to get all five tires replaced. I never had to do a thing.
Although they currently don't have the Bridgstones in stock, this gives me some extra "free time" with the original tires. I think it's great that this service has been performed by Toyota and I'm not sure many other manufacturers would have done the same thing.
Think we pretty much have all the kinks worked out of our Special Service Campaign for tires and appreciate the dialog and feedback received via this thread on FJCForums. Some of the real world comments here have helped us improve our customer and dealer communications regarding the handling of recalls.
Also, some improved communications available to our FJ Cruiser owners and other FJC fans via the Toyota website and the FJCruiser home page. It's Live Chat and is available now. Individuals landing on the FJCruiser page at http://www.toyota.com/fjcruiser/ will find a link allowing them to chat live with an FJ Cruiser representative from our Customer Experience Center in California. The service is available Monday through Friday from 5am-6pm Pacific time and Saturdays 7am-4pm Pacific.

Hi TMS can you explain the rationale behind charging $449 for XM or Sirius on a vehicle in this price range when Honda offers XM free with three months service free on all their EX models, most of which base price at many thousands less then the FJ?

I'm stumped.
Well . . . I really cannot. Pricing decisions are well removed from my area of expertise. Many manufacturers offer various promotional programs involving satellite radio service, and it sounds like Honda may have one in place now on those vehicles you reference.

TMS said (several weeks ago): "For those affected customers who may have been denied replacement of tires because of confusion over the DOT numbers, we are in the process of re-notification by mail that you may return to your dealership and have all of the affected tires replaced at no charge"

I'm a little confused. Does this recall only apply to certain FJ's with Dunlop Grandtek's or any FJ's with the Dunlops? I realized today that I have the Dunlop Grandtek's on my FJ purchased last month. Who knows how long it was on the lot before I bought it.

With the sales rate of FJ's, I really doubt yours sat for long. If you read through the early parts of the post, you can find a link to the VIN numbers and check. I doubt yours is part of the recall.
