Re: Toyota's Special Service Campaign (SSC)--60D For 2007 FJ Cruiser

Yes master (lol) Toyota told me i should have no proplem changing tires as long as i am willing to pay the difference. The dealers should have the same info that i do so when all these people call them they can give the correct info instead of stressing them out even more. I am not one of those stressing as i see this as a positive not a negative. The glass is half full not half empty.

Alright heres the proplem. I contacted Toyota this morning and i am one of the fj owners with the special service campaign proplem. They told me to contact the dealer, which i did. There are 2 dealers in my area one of them told me to get back with them in a week or so as they had no info on 60D. The other dealer said they where to only inspect the tires not replace them and they would call me back with the correct info. I am not holding my breath for the call back from this dealer. When is Toyota going to be giving the dealers the info on (SSC 60D) so i can have this taken care of. Thanks
Although we provide immediate notice to our dealers regarding the SSC via our Dealer Daily electronic communications system, the actual dealer "package" containing specifics such as repair instructions, PMA-based VIN lists, etc. is sent separately. That should be in our dealers' hands by the end of this week/first part of next week. Customer letters begin mailing about one week after that and will continue for approximately one month.

Makes me kinda happy that I did not get the black steel wheels and stock tires I was supposed to get on my original spec. I was going to swap them out as soon as I took delivery, anyway, so I guess it would not have mattered too much.

Re: Toyota's Special Service Campaign (SSC)--60D For 2007 FJ Cruiser

This is why I purchase Toyota products and will continue. When Toyota had a head gasket issue some years ago on their trucks, they covered my repair when I had 100,000 miles on it. I can tell you no American car company would do that or be proactive and then actually answer posts in this forum.

Toyota, if you wouldn't mind asking if we could swap the value of our forthcoming replacement tires for the optional BFG tires (and we pay the difference), that would really be appreciated. I know this adds to the complication, but I think you'd have a lot of interested parties on this site....

I do understand the interest in doing something like that. However, please understand that as part of our voluntary service campaign for the FJ, we filed a DIR with the NHTSA and thus are subject to certain regulatory requirements regarding such things as communication to owners--even via the internet. So, TMS USA needs to confine comments pretty narrowly to the specifics of this campaign.

Sorry if that sounded like a lot of legal hogwash--really not trying to dodge intelligent questions. My suggestion is that you talk to your dealer once he/she is up to speed on this campaign. You can always talk to our representatives in the Customer Experience Center, too, at 800-331-4331.

Thanks Bostonian1976.

This is why Toyota is the best. Wow, I think I will sell the Cobalt, the Pilot and the 98 Chevy 454, the horse trailer, the horses, tack, etc. move to Colorado and buy another Toyota.....one FJ can't be enough.

Re: Toyota's Special Service Campaign (SSC)--60D For 2007 FJ Cruiser

Does this count as a warranty service? I got some special from my dealership that said if I don't use the extended warranty, they will refund my money at the end of the term.
