With the sales rate of FJ's, I really doubt yours sat for long. If you read through the early parts of the post, you can find a link to the VIN numbers and check. I doubt yours is part of the recall.

Bought mine on 3/23/06...vin #1310...so I'm early in. Took her in on the original recall and Long Beach Toyota said the tires were fine. I didn't have a problem with it. They had their instructions and they followed them and said my tires checked out.

Just got a letter today that the tire checking process might not have been as comprehensive as planned and I need to bring the FJ back and they will replace all five tires plus they said they were sorry for the inconvenience and enclosed a $50.00 gas card. It was an extremely cool thing to do. This is why I bought a Toyota.

Thank you, Toyota, for your very prompt and generous Special Service Campaign. I got the notice, took the FJ in to my dealer and a couple hours later they told me that I wasn't affected. Better to find out now than later and great to have such a generous offer from Toyota.
Thanks again for your customer support.
As of 10-3-06. Received a second recall notice and took it to Frontier Toyota in Santa Clarita where they exchanged my original factory tires with 5 new ones. It seems all the factory tires qualify. The bill came to $1145 which was paid by Toyota, no me. On top of the 5 new tires I received an American Express Card good for $50, with the recall letter, for my inconveniance! I applaud Toyota for handling this situation quickly and without any hassle.

Wahoo! 12,000k and I got some new shoes for free yesterday!

I've had an 81 4x4, my dad bought a 4runner, and now i drive an FJ. It's nice to deal with a company that makes, and stands behind their reliable products.

Keep up the good work!

Re: Toyota's Special Service Campaign (SSC)--60D For 2007 FJ Cruiser

Hi Guys

Everywhere I go people stop me and ask me about my FJ. I had several of the FJ Cruiser Issue #1 from Trail Team events which I handed out. I would like to pitch that certain members of the forum have a stock of these to hand out to prospective buyers.

It would save time having to speak with them about all their question and help promote.

My thought is give a limited number of members that do this a set of TRD Alloy wheels for this service. The cost is minimal and the Trail Team will be ending shortly.

I spend a ton of time hiking and skiing in NH Maine and VT so I could generate lots of interest/sales.

Please respond and let me know.

Thanks

P.S. I was the guy who organized the Cruiser Solutions event in Hampstead NH and trail run. I worked with Brady Clarke on it. You can check with Maureen and Jonathan from the Trail Team I'll deliver.

Re: Toyota's Special Service Campaign (SSC)--60D For 2007 FJ Cruiser

So how does a dealer follow the recall specifics? Just went in for my recall for the second time and I was extremely disappointed when they replaced my Bridgestone Duelers with Dunlop Grandtreks? I thought they were only suppose to replace like with like? The Dealer said that was the only tire they had! something is just not right! I wanted my old tires back! They could have at least told me they didn't have the Bridgestones prior to wasting my time!

I've got 5 dunlops for sale if anyone wants them, and the rip off is they charged Toyota $132 each with installation charge.

I would be rejoicing, I think the Dunlops are better treads.

Re: Toyota's Special Service Campaign (SSC)--60D For 2007 FJ Cruiser

Do ya believe it, I just bolted my OEM Alum Rims on with
the brigestone on em'... Drove down to the dealer and...
Well, nothing yet, but they said NP,
come in thursday morning and we'll mount em' up for ya'...
THAT WAS EASY !!!... I figure I should just get it done
and get the new ones and maybe sell em' or give them to
my kid to put on her 88' Toy...

Dang my Alums are gauged up

Feels weird without the 34" Swampers too...

Hmmm, It would have been nice to get a 4X4 with proper AT tires in the first place. I sold my Bridgestones and put on some real tires.
