Steelies do Bend!!!......Back...

When I bought my kms mt tires the guy mounting them Bent my rim with the machine, denied he did. So when he put it on the balancer he took it off and said you need a new wheel. So I did not argue with him and brought it home, took out my 4 pound hammer and straigtened it and now it is as true as it should be. so I am going to take it back to him and get my free balance on it. FyI thought i would share... be careful when your tire guy is mounting them especially if he is using one of the old tire machines like he was on mine... Later

I can't believe you would try to make that poor guy buy you a new rim, I saw how you drive in harlan.

J/k I had a guy bend a rim on me one time, luckly for me I was watching him and made them fix it.

Bent it mounting and balancing the tire? haha.

Dang. I remember someone in another thread stated that they thought the stock steelies were a little too maleable.

Re: Steelies do Bend!!!......Back...

Just took it back in for balance and it only took 3 oz on front and 2 on back. WOOT!! I am a happy camper about this, because I do not have to find another steelie and have it remounted, and now i can put it in my tire rotation.. FYI Update

I've bent two so far, nothing that cant be beat back. I agree, rather beat a steelie back than replace an alloy wheel.
