I love my new Firestones!

I got these Firestone Destination M/T's mounted a couple weeks ago and I absolutely love them. They are quite a bit louder than the Rugged Trails but who cares they ROCK. Actually they are pretty tolerable after you get used to them, my wife took the FJ to work the other day and said she noticed that after awhile you don't even notice the hum. These tires really shine off road, really pull you through the gunk. I highly recomend them!

Looking good. Nice job on the wheel paint too. The tread pattern looks like the BFG KM. You do get used to the hum. I even got used to the loud LTBs.

Re: I love my new Firestones!

I had those same tires, loved them at first. Couple downsides to them, they get louder as they wear, i put 14k on them and they were starting to lose some chunks of rubber on the lugs, seemed like they were alittle to soft and and fell apart. Ill never buy them agian but i hope you have better luck.

I don'nt mind them getting louder but the chunks of rubber coming off sucks. I made my decision on these tires based on reading through tons of reviews, the price and Dragon's great luck with these tires. Hope I have good luck also.

Re: I love my new Firestones!

They look GREAT on your rig, and nice job with the wheels also

I have 38,000 miles on mine and have no issues at all. They are great off-road and do very well on road.

You'll find that the noise goes in stages. It seems to be the loudest right after a tire rotation, and then it will get increasingly more quiet until you're due for one again.

I rotate all 5 tires every 5,000 miles when I do an oil change.

Congrats on the new meats!!!

Re: I love my new Firestones!

Having had vehicles with several sets of Firestones, I am more confident in this brand than any other. Bridgestones have also been good to me but they are the same company now. Nittos have been good to me so far but I've never met a set of Goodyears that I really liked. Though I don't have any experience with the Silent Armor the Wranglers always seem to develop a thump, thump, thump like the belts aren't even or lined up right or something.

Your ride looks great with the new treads and I'm sure they'll treat you well.
