Will 31" Boggers rub

I just bought my 07 fj 2 weeks ago and i'm looking into purchasing 31" X 12.5" super swamper boggers on 16" rims. Does anyone know if this set up would rub? (stock suspension) any advise would help. thanks.

That's equivalent to just over 315mm wide. Even with them being an inch shorter than stock, I imagine that you'd rub at steering lock. I'm not sure that anyone here is running a similar setup and can confirm that.

The height is actually really close to stock size. You won't gain clearance, but you will gain width. You may need spacers to move the tire away from the UCA, and they'll most likely rub body mount.

Re: Will 31" Boggers rub

since they are an inch shorter than stock can i go with 33"x14"x16" boggers with spacers? or should i go with 33"x12.5"x16?( i do alot of mud bogging so i would think the wider the better). or would going to wide put to much strain on the stock components?

Re: Will 31" Boggers rub

With 12.50s you will most definitely have to cut the body mounts (pretty common, i have it done, takes an somewhat experienced welder to box it in after it is cut) then def. spacers to not rub on the UCA. I have 285 bfgs and i am less than an inch from the UCA and was about 1inch from the body mount at full turn. (assuming stock rims of course)

14 inch wide tires??? You would have to do some major modifications to do that. Chop mount, run spacers, remove plastic fenders, etc. You would be the first person i have seen. Widest i have seen anyone run is 12.50.

I run a 34x10.50 LTB and have no issues coming close to rubbing. I prefer a tall and narrow tire for the mud on the FJ. Just me, but it does terrific on the muddy trails.

You're thinking backwards there. The stock tires are approximately 32"x10.5", so the 33"x14" would be significantly larger. The way the FJ was engineered, it's necessary to start modifying the suspension and/or body mounts if you're going to go with larger-than-stock tires (although I've seen some reports of people running 285's without doing so).
