You put a strap around the tire, tighten it down pretty good, and then just fill it up!

No seriously, that's it!

Ya thats it but clean the bead and rim before so you dont have dirt. Lift the truck put the strap in the center and tighten. Then air up. I use a big tellydine strap like the ones on semi trucks. Never used it on an fj but jeeps many times.

It depends on tire. Some tires are stiffer then others. My 305/70/16 MT/Rs are much softer then my Super Swamper 34X10.5X16. At 18psi, they feel like my Swampers at 10. I've ran the Swampers at 10 before without issues. I ran some rock gardens, but nothing off camber and not with much throttle. If comparing similar tires of different width, I'm inclined to believe that a wider tire would actually be less willing to lose a bead because of more pressure on the lips.

Thanks Fjamming!
DeMello said the same thing, especially re: width of tire relative to rim. (See his post here: 33's = increased risk of rolling off bead when aired down & at 30-35 degree + angles?)

I use 18 psi on my 31" BFG AT tires/TRD alloy wheels and 31" Hankook MTR03 tires/OEM Steel wheels on my FJ (and previously w/35" Mickey Thompson Baja Claw tires/MT Classic Wheels on my TJ) without a beadlock and w/o any problems.

On stock rims I run my pro-comp x-terrain at 16 and the pittbulls wich are biais at 13 and you just start to see the flex. Never lost a bead yet.

Ratchet strap is the best for reseating no danger. Other option is ether inside not like on the video, light it up as soon, as the bead is back on, air up as fast as you can. The strap is much safer. Always clean the rims and tire before a bead of grease on the tire bead helps also.
I wouldn't grease the bead....i've had tires spin on the rim
