The all-new Trail Grappler™ M/T blends some of the off-road performance of the Mud Grappler™ with the on-road comfort of the Terra Grappler™ to create a tire that is both aggressive and quiet. For off-road performance, the sidewall combines a 3-ply high turn-up construction with a thick rubber compound that cushions the tire and helps prevent punctures. On the tread surface, the blocks are configured to provide additional biting edges that command lateral stability and enhance forward traction. For on-road comfort, Nitto's engineers used advanced sound analysis equipment to reduce the noise levels commonly associated with off-road tires. The internal construction and tread design also help optimize treadlife. Two wide steel belts provide a stable base for the tire and increase tread strength. This advanced construction provides optimal uniformity and reduces irregular wear.

Nitto promises the Trail Grappler MT will be the next best thing to hit the Grappler line up. For those of you who love the Terra Grappler but want a little more bite and off-road performance without stepping up to the Mud Grappler, this tire is for you. Nitto manufactures their Grapplers with the most up to date manufacturing technologies. Nitto uses segmented molds that fit together like puzzle pieces, and continuous wound steel belting. These two manufacturing processes alone make a huge difference when it comes to balancing. They also help to dramatically reduce the tires chance for tread separation. Add to these, Nitto's highly sophisticated rubber compounds and the fact that Nitto builds 90% of their Grapplers in the USA and you have a winning combination.

Re: New Nitto Trail Grappler MT

I saw the forum press release and also looked at them on the Nitto website. They do look promising but they skipped the 285/70/17 tire size that most of us run. I look forward to hearing real-world reviews of them and how much/how little noise they make.

Re: New Nitto Trail Grappler MT

It looks like they combined the BFG KM1, BFG KM2 and Maxxis Bighorn MT all into one. Is it going to be a soft tire like the Mud Grappler or harder like the terra grappler? Other than that it is definately fills the spot between the Terra and Mud grappler in their line up.

Noticed that. Nor do they have the stock size 265/70-17.

What are you thoughts or questions? They look pretty promising to me.

Here are a couple more pictures. Like the other grappler, these have two sidewall designs.

You mentioned a while back they might be working on something.....and dang that is just what I was hoping they would look like... and will give the Firestone Destination MT a true competitor if they did it right. Let me lust a bit...

I would LOVE TO give these a try on my trip across country to the FJ SUMMIT and then wheeling the trails every day and then back to Charleston SC again. Damn....wonder if I could trade in my Terra Grapplers and get a set by then. 5000 mile trip would be a good assessment I think of their performance for us daily drives. LOL

The sizes listed are only the initial sizes for September release. I can guaranty they will have more sizes over time. It takes a while for all the molds to be built. We'll update everyone with what ever we hear as soon as we do.

The Summit event looks like an awesome one. I would love to join you guys out there for that. That would be a great place to test them out. As far as I know there is only 1 or two tires total here in the country. The rest will start arriving in Sept.
