Re: 16 or 17 wheels.....

I personally favor the 16" rim for the reasons stated above.

I purchased TRD 16" rims in July 2006 and had my local tire store moujnt Bridgestone LT265/75R16 Dueler AT Revos on the rim. They sat in the tire store until October 12, 2006 when the FJ Cruiser arrived at the dealer.

I had ordered a 2007 AT FJ Cruiser with rear locker and Upgrade 1 (keyless entry, cruiser control, backup sensor - basic stuff). I put my ATRAC switch in the evening I brought my baby home and installed the wheels and tires the next day.

The wife need shoes from her Denali and the Toyota 17" tires fit her car perfectly. I still have the steel 17" rims in the garage.

16" rims was the better choice for me and I have never looked back.

Re: 16 or 17 wheels.....

When hard times hit our country,, I would bet good money one will be able to find a good used 16" tires long before one can ever get hold of a 17"... They are still rare out here in rural America... 16" have been around since the first years of the 1900's

Re: 16 or 17 wheels.....

Happy 4th!

I swapped out my stock 17s plus cash for sliders, full suspension, and 17" AR chambers w/ tires. The deal was just too good for me to pass up but would've preferred 16s (and still do) for all of the reasons stated above.

Love Dueler AT Revos!! Have used those for about two years on my Liberty. I talked to a friend today that said be can get me five 16 TRD wheels for less then 700 so might go ahead and do that.
