What Size Tires w/3" Lift

I have a 2007 all Black TRD. Next week I will be installing a 3" lift (3" front, 2" rear). I'm trying to determine what size of tires to get. I don't want to do a bunch of modifications. Please note it is my daily driver.

The current (OEM) tires are BF Goodrich TA 265/75/R16

Should I get:

285/75/R16 (is this big enough that with the new lift the truck will look good)
295/75/R16
315/75/R16 (this might be too big for my daily driver use?)

Thanks for your opinions.

You that have 3" lifts, what size tires do you run, that look good?

Re: What Size Tires w/3" Lift

My FJ is my daily driver too, the lift I have is 2" front and rear (ICON), I run now BFG AT 285/75/16. The car looks better and more stable, however it consumes fuel more than before. for 285 and up, you'll have to chop the body mount. Good luck

Re: What Size Tires w/3" Lift

Take a read through the members build up section. You will get lots of ideas and see brands of tires, sizes and rim off sets that have worked and if body mount chops were required. Body mount chop info are typically listed in the descriptions some where. They all play the rolls if a lift will work or your FJ. The search function will help you out as well. I run 33"X12.50X17 with OME heavy 3" lift and OEM aluminum rims. If you wish for specific help on the forum please list your type of lift and may'be some one who has the same lift will post there experince. Good luck and welcome to FJ Cruiser Forum

285/75/16 would look great and you wont have to mod anything to run them. Your gas mileage will drop by just a little.

Re: What Size Tires w/3" Lift

I have a 3 inch lift and am running 295/70/17 Nitto Trail Grapplers with Mickey Thompson Classic Lock wheels. I didn't need to chop the body mounts or anything and my FJ is also a daily driver, but loves to get off the pavement and hit the trails.
