Is there any interest in a rafting trip during summit? It would mean taking one day off of the trails.

Thumbs up Re: Rafting trip during Summit?

Many people get to town earlier in the week. If you do the same, you may be more successful in getting someone to join up with you. We usually get there sometime on Saturday so that we have a few extra days in Paradise to go out and do other stuff before the Summit starts (because we don't want to miss out on the hangout time with the other guys while we're all gathered in the same place).

As mentioned in the other thread though, Rigs in Ridgway is an excellent place to go for whitewater rafting trips.

Good luck. It should be a great time, whenever you get to do it.

Re: Rafting trip during Summit?

thanks for the info, i might come into town a day earlier to do this.

I used to be with another club back east, we would hit a trail that would take us to a nearby town for a rafting trip. It would be cool to have a combo type of event in the future. I know it would be a longer day but it would be fun.

Re: Rafting trip during Summit?

We're doing a kid friendly 2hr rafting trip on Wed, and maybe a mine tour just North of Ouray as well.
