Re: Ham's Attending 2014 Summit Sign in Here!

There hasn't been a post in this thread for 2 months so I figured I'd revive the dead!

I order a Kenwood TM-D710G, a Rigrunner, and all the cables for the Kenwood yesterday.

Monday I'm having a car audio guy run all the wires for me because I'm a baby and scared to tear into a brand new truck.

So I'll have the Kenwood along with a Cobra 75 CB running for the summit.

Look for the bright red Tundra with two antennas sticking out from under a tonneau cover.

Also - was there ever an examiner session set up? I might need to upgrade to general if there is one available.

Re: Ham's Attending 2014 Summit Sign in Here!

Just got on board again, my sixth.

Ace Brown
KJ4UML
CB usually monitoring 4 or 34
Yaesu 7900 monitoring 146.460
Baofeng UV 82 (brand new and still learning how to program)

If there are any training sessions I still have a lot to learn about repeaters. Last year I did a group run at another event that was designated for HAM operators or those interested. It was the best HAM learning experience ever. Too late to set up anything like that at the Summit but suggest when we do the group intros that HAM operators let it be known who you are and take the opportunity to chew the fat on the trails.

“We need the tonic of wildness...At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature.”
