Wednesday July 20 Yankee Boy Basin run

Edit:
Looks like most everyone is going on the Yankee Boy night run so I am going to scratch this run. I'll probably just take a drive out there Tuesday late afternoon. Have fun on the night run guys!

I might be down for this. I think we'll be in the area around Tuesday, so a morning run could be fun. Just want to plan to be back mid day for some of the events later that day in Ouray.

Sounds good here. Doesn't seem like too long of a run.

@PeteC and @TXPaladin ,
You guys should have plenty of time to run Yankee Boy after registration. Last year after registration we ran Yankee Boy and the top part of Engineer Pass and still made it back before any events started. Be advised that Yankee Boy is narrow enough in places to be considered one way and a lot of Summiteers like to run it early since it is so close to town. You may end up waiting for a break in the traffic to get down. Lots of fun and beatiful views from the "perch" near the top. This is the gathering last year as we waited for the uphill traffic.

That sounds interesting. I would be interested in something like this, though the first trail I was looking to tackle would be a full day doing Ophir Pass to Telluride and then use Imogene Pass back to Ouray. I would be a lot more interested in an earlier departure time of about 7:30am or 8:00am.

Here are some pictures I took last year to help you see some trails so you can decide on how you connect your trails to have a full day with more than one trail.

I may be camping up there then. I plan to be doing a lot of that this year.

We started up on a night run, but didn't make it to to the top due to snow an the trail not being clear, hopefully this will be better.

My wife and I are definitively interested in doing this. As long as we have a game plan to make it back before any of the other events start.

2007 FJ Cruiser Retrofit Source hid projector Retrofit 6k, 285/70/17 BFG Duratec tires, blistein 5100 shocks up front, procomp shocks rear with Metal Tech LT springs and extended brake lines.
AllPro HD sliders, RCI Rear Diff Armor, RCI front, transfer case, gas tank, and transmission skids. SPC uper control arms, many more to come.

Also have a 2016 Toyota 4Runner Trail Premium. It is my wife's truck and we are slowly modifying it.

Sounds good Cam. I don't see that being a problem and we wanted to be back by then also.
